A Year Since I Left You

And such was the end To see my brother, my friend Through bloodshot eyes Dying

And me Bound to silence violence The harshest desolation An empty tabletop A creation of imagination Praying for deliverance Praying for redemption Kissing the devil Claiming exemption Through bloodshot eyes Dying Moving on With no reason and no hope Till there's nothing left to move on to

An acrid cup of coffee An empty table Your care worn face Through bloodshot eyes

And me Wide awake Just in time to be too late To call the key of your last song To be sublime for just so long To see you move on one last time Through bloodshot eyes Dying

And there am I in you Dying too
