Night and Moon

The warm sea breeze Blows chaos in hair Sand sticking to knees I watched from the chair Wave foamy crest A perpetual roar Sunset in the west From the east's inky core The light of the star Drawn lips form a smile Celestial tsar River-light, cosmic Nile The song of the gull and the wind slows to whisper In tide's ebbing lull To the night's silent sister "Dear Moon, snowy pale Hide not your white face I'll remove cloud veil Pray, show him your grace." I alone heard these words I alone saw this sight The wash touched my soul We made love to the night In that warm sea breeze In the wave's silent roar To the gull's sweetest song Night and Moon, nothing more
